In honor of the 4th of July, it seems appropriate for today's post to be patriotic- and what is more patriotic than the Star Spangled Banner? The first video is one of my favorite Saturday Night Live clips. Maya Rudolph makes fun of those people that try a little too hard to make their version of the National Anthem unique, and end up taking it just a little too far. It makes me laugh every time I see it.
Whitney Houston is one of the best female singers out there, so today I will post her version, ignoring her past with drugs and Bobby Brown, her tendency to sweat profusely every time she sings, and her current unsettling relationship with Brandy's little brother Ray-J (is that still going on?). Sing it Whitney!
